January 20

The Ohio State Parks, where our triathlon races are hosted, have indicated that they will not approve any permits until May of 2021. We are opening registration for these triathlons (and multisport races) in early February in the hopes that our summer events will be approved for live in-person racing. In the event that an event is not approved, all athletes will be moved to a virtual race, and we will mail your event swag to you. Athletes will be able to submit results virtually, and we will post them. Registration for these events will remain open through race day, so you are welcome to wait to register if you prefer.  Thank you,

December 7

We continue to consult with local, state, and national agencies on how best to return to safe and fun in-person racing in 2021. We believe that in-person racing will be a reality in 2021 for most of our events, though some may still need to be virtual. We are working with these agencies to get races cleared and permitted as quickly as we can, though some venues still are not able to give us the final go-ahead until the COVID-19 cases decrease in that area. Stay tuned to social media, this website, and your email for updates. If you would like to be added to the email list please complete our contact form and we will get you in the database. Please mark your calendars for all our 2021 race dates, and when we get our permits approved for each race, we will open registration. Races will be considered tentative until we open registration. We want to be sure we can race before we take any registrations. Thank you for your continued support, and we look seeing you on course and in-person soon!

November 17

We have been in communication with the Montgomery County Health Department and the Ohio State Parks, and it is possible to return to in-person racing for our events in 2021. We are working with the local health departments and permitting agencies on our 2021 races so stay tuned to social media, this website, and your email for updates. If you would like to be added to the email list please complete our contact form and we will get you in the database. Please mark your calendars for all our 2021 race dates, and when we get our permits approved for each race, we will open registration.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look seeing you on course and in-person soon!

October 12

We have been in communication with the Montgomery County Health Department, and it is possible to return to in-person racing for our running events, provided we develop a safe racing plan, and have it approved by the Board. We are currently working on this plan for the Pancake Run on Jan 1st in Miamisburg, Ohio. We hope to get the plan approved and open registration by November 1st. Stay tuned to social media, this website and your email for updates. If you would like to be added to the email list please complete our contact form and we will get you in the database.

We have also talked with the Ohio State Parks, where we host our triathlon races, and there is still much uncertainty as to when and if we can race in 2021. Ohio State Parks told us they are not allowed to issue any permits for races until the Governor lifts the 10 person gathering limit ban. You can follow the latest COVID-19 developments and public orders in Ohio here. We will continue to talk with them and update you as we know more.

We hope to release all our 2021 race dates in early January or as we learn more about when and where we can return to in-person racing. Thank you for your continued support, and we look seeing you on course and in-person soon!

Stay safe, keep training, and stay positive!

September 22

Zoom Multisport is committed to you during this time of uncertainty. We hope to get back to racing soon, but right now we are unable to secure any race permits as a result of local and state level safety protocols. Ohio State Parks will not issue any permits for our triathlon races until the Governor lifts the 10 person gathering limit ban. Montgomery County and local cities will not allow races to go forward until the county moves from a Level 3 to a Level 2, on the Ohio Public Health Advosory System. You can follow the latest COVID-19 developments and public orders in Ohio here.

Once we get the green light, we will return to in-person racing as soon as possible. Until then we will continue to host virtual events to keep you motivated. Thank you for racing with us and we look forward to seeing you out on the road soon!

Stay safe, keep training, and stay positive!

July 27

Thank you so much for racing with us!

Due to the pandemic, guidelines from the State of Ohio, and local health authorities we are canceling races for the rest of 2020.

For all canceled races we will refund entry fees. We cannot refund registration processing fees as these were collected by a third party. Individuals who are registered for this race will receive an email explaining the refund and can expect to receive a credit on their original form of payment from the registration company, IMATHLETE, in a few weeks. If you have any questions, please contact us at https://www.zoomracingusa.com/contact/

We will continue to monitor the situation, and follow the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Ohio, the Federal Government, and local officials. When things are safe, and we are granted permission to host events, we will start planning for live racing again. Until then, please join us virtually, be safe, and keep training!

July 4, 2020

As we navigate the COVID-19 global pandemic, we are following the orders from both the Federal government and the guidelines from the State of Ohio (found at https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/home). These times are uncertain and we feel that right now it is not safe to host events.

Consequently, we have canceled races through the end of August. We will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions on fall races later in the summer.

For all canceled races we will refund entry fees. We cannot refund registration processing fees as these were collected by a third party. Individuals who are registered for this race will receive an email explaining the refund and can expect to receive a credit on their original form of payment from the registration company, IMATHLETE, in a few weeks. If you have any questions, please contact us at https://www.zoomracingusa.com/contact/. We will continue to follow the guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Ohio, the Federal Government, local officials, and our staff. We know that things are in flux and so we will continue to update you as we know more. Thank you for your patience in this difficult time, and be safe out there.

June 1, 2020

Ohio’s Governor Mike DeWine has been updating us regularly on the Responsible ReStart Plan for Ohio (found at https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/home). At this time, mass gatherings are still limited, and endurance events are not allowed in the state. DeWine has not signaled that the state will be allowing these events anytime soon. We understand this could change at any time, and do hope we can get back to racing later in the summer. At this time, we feel that the risk is too high to move forward with our July 25th Halfway to Christmas run event.

Therefore, we are canceling our July 25th Halfway to Christmas Run in Miamisburg.

We will be refunding all entry fees for this event.

We will be hosting our races scheduled in August, September, and October as planned.

We will continue to follow the guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Ohio, the Federal Government, local officials, and our staff. We know that things are in flux and so we will continue to update you as we know more.

Thank you for your patience in this difficult time, and be safe out there.

April 22, 2020

We have been closely following Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s Press Briefings found at https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/home and President Donald Trump's, Opening Up America Again plan found at https://www.whitehouse.gov/openingamerica/. Governor DeWine has offered support for the President’s plan, and so we can expect this model to guide Ohio’s reopening efforts. The Opening Up America Again calls for a 3-phase approach that includes a gradual opening of the economy so long as certain benchmarks are met. The minimum time for a community to get to Phase 3 would be 6 weeks. In Phase 3, large venues like sporting events can operate under limited physical distancing protocols. We feel that we are most likely in this category and expect that we would not be able to operate until at least mid-June, at the earliest.

Therefore we are canceling our June events, including the Ohio Games Triathlon, Run, Swim and Cycle scheduled for June 6-7 at Alum Creek State Park, and the Red, White and Zoom Triathlon Festival scheduled for June 28th at Cowan Lake State Park.

We will be refunding all entry fees for only the events in June. For those who purchased one-day USA Triathlon memberships for the event, we will be working with them over the next few weeks to have those memberships refunded. Annual USA Triathlon memberships are not being refunded at this time.  Additionally, we cannot refund registration processing fees as these were collected by a third party. Individuals who are registered for these races will receive an email explaining the refund and can expect to be emailed an electronic check from the registration company, IMATHLETE. If you have any questions, please contact us at https://www.zoomracingusa.com/contact/

We will be hosting our races scheduled in July, August, September, and October as planned.

We will continue to follow the guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Ohio, the Federal Government, local officials, and our staff. We know that things are changing daily, and so we will update you as we know more. In the meantime, please follow the travel, prevention, testing, and treatment recommendations outlined by the CDC, and stay safe!

Thank you for racing with us, and we will see you out on course again very soon!

March 18, 2020

The coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic is unprecedented, and the situation is rapidly changing. We are very concerned with the health and wellbeing of our athletes, staff, volunteers, partners, contractors, and all involved with our events.

We are also saddened that events have been canceled, businesses have closed, and social gatherings have been limited. We support these measures and have confidence in the efforts of our governments and healthcare providers. The Zoom Multisport Racing staff has been consulting with and will continue to work with medical professionals, local governments, and our national organizations, including USA Triathlon, USA Track and Field, and USA Cycling to address the changing needs of our organization and those we serve.

We are following the guidance issued by both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the State of Ohio and at this time, all races will continue as planned.

We are aware that the situation continues to evolve, and we will communicate updates to everyone as soon as possible. We encourage you to follow the travel, prevention, testing, and treatment recommendations outlined by the CDC. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this ever-changing situation.
